Technology brief

Whaptics® technology is an innovative replacement for traditional mechanism-based buttons, switches, sliders and other interface controls.
Whaptics is based on a combination of software, embedded electronics and an advanced implementation of infrared optical technology developed by H2i technologies.
Developers, integrators and OEM manufacturers use Whaptics to create a variety of user interfaces for a great variety of custom concepts and designs, making nearly any surface interactive without having to integrate mechanical parts, and without traditional touch-screen LCD or capacitive displays, physical buttons or sensor-based finger pressing.
Two technology options: surface-skim and pass-through
|
Whaptics technology offers two usage models to accommodate your surface, product design and application requirements: Whaptics 1 pass-through detection technology : The detector unit is mounted beneath the surface in order to scan the surface area or open space on the other side. Whaptics 1 pass-through finger or hand detection with range up to 6cm, typically for “thin-air” and waterproof applications. |
Whaptics surface-skim finger detection for interactive interfaces on nearly any surface
